Head of HR – Germany

About the role

The Head of HR for PLAION Partners Germany will lead the employee journey from recruitment to departure, combining strategic people leadership with day‑to‑day HR operations. Based in Munich/Planegg, the role works in a hybrid model and partners closely with local Managing Directors and global HR colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Germany HR function, translating business priorities into local HR plans and overseeing people administration.
• Coordinate payroll and benefits, drive continuous improvement and digitalisation of HR processes, and ensure accurate KPI reporting.
• Advise senior leaders on German employment law, handle employee relations matters, and provide coaching and conflict‑management support.
• Oversee recruitment, relocation, onboarding and off‑boarding, maintaining a talent pool and ensuring a consistent employee experience.
• Support performance management, people‑development programmes, and coordinate health, safety and wellbeing initiatives.
• Partner on employer branding, employee engagement, and culture initiatives, translating feedback into actionable improvements.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in operational and strategic HR, including leading an HR function.
• Strong knowledge of German employment law and local HR practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English.
• Ability to advise senior leaders, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and build trust across cultures.
• Strong planning, organisational skills and experience using digital HR tools and data‑driven decision making.
