Head of Internal Technology & AI

About the role

We are seeking a senior leader to drive our transformation into an AI‑native organisation. The Head of Internal Technology & AI will own the end‑to‑end AI adoption journey, shaping both the internal technology landscape and company‑wide AI strategy while working in a fast‑scaling, remote‑first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and lead the AI transformation strategy, aligning initiatives with business priorities and long‑term technology goals.
• Build and manage a portfolio of AI projects, setting timelines, ownership and measurable impact metrics.
• Promote AI‑first ways of working across all departments, improving productivity, automation and decision‑making.
• Lead change‑management programmes, including AI literacy, upskilling and leadership enablement.
• Establish AI governance frameworks covering responsible use, data readiness and tooling standards.
• Own internal AI engineering strategy, including tools, agents, automations, integrations and shared services.
• Make build‑versus‑buy decisions for AI platforms in close collaboration with executive and engineering leadership.
• Oversee corporate IT operations – identity management, SaaS administration, device management and internal support systems.
• Ensure internal systems and data architecture are optimised for AI enablement, transparency and scalability.
• Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team of AI engineers, IT specialists and operations professionals.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading end‑to‑end AI or digital transformation programmes in a scaling organisation.
• Strong technical foundation with the ability to understand architecture, review code and engage with engineers.
• Demonstrated change‑management expertise and success driving adoption of new tools at scale.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to structure complex programmes and measure impact.
