Head of Manufacturing

About the role

We are partnering with an ambitious aerospace and defence company that is moving from development to full‑scale production. Based in Munich, you will lead the creation of a brand‑new factory, turning a greenfield site into a world‑class manufacturing hub for complex, high‑performance products.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the industrialisation and manufacturing strategy from concept to serial production.
• Collaborate with factory planners to design, commission and launch the new manufacturing facility.
• Establish production processes, tooling, layouts, equipment and manufacturing systems.
• Drive manufacturing readiness across Concept, PDR, CDR and production milestones.
• Build scalable operations that support long‑term growth.
• Partner with Engineering to ensure products are designed for manufacture and assembly.
• Recruit, develop and lead a high‑performing manufacturing engineering team.
• Introduce best practices in quality, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in aerospace, space, defence, automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.
• Track record of leading industrialisation or manufacturing programmes that move complex products from development to production.
• Experience with greenfield projects, factory planning, production ramp‑up and serial manufacturing.
• Demonstrated ability to build new manufacturing capability rather than only operate existing facilities.
