Head of Product & Technology

About the role

Cara Care, a German digital therapeutics leader backed by Bayer, is seeking a Head of Product & Technology to drive its DiGA‑listed solutions for IBS, GERD and future indications. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will own the combined product and technology agenda, shaping a clinically effective, user‑centric and compliant platform that scales across multiple therapeutic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute product and technology strategy, roadmap and prioritisation for existing and pipeline digital therapeutics.
• Lead end‑to‑end product lifecycle from discovery through delivery, optimisation, engagement and measurable patient impact.
• Oversee engineering architecture across mobile/web front‑end, backend services, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, security and system integrations.
• Build data and AI capabilities, including analytics, personalisation, automation, experimentation and responsible AI features.
• Translate clinical, regulatory, reimbursement, privacy and security requirements into pragmatic product and technology solutions.
• Implement software‑as‑medical‑device lifecycle practices: risk management, documentation, change control, audit readiness and post‑market monitoring.
• Establish operating model, delivery rhythms, decision rights and ownership across Product, Engineering, Design and Data/AI teams.
• Recruit, coach and develop high‑performing, accountable teams.
• Manage senior stakeholder relationships with Cara Care, Bayer, external partners and the broader healthcare ecosystem.

Required profile

• Proven senior product and technology leadership in regulated health‑tech or digital therapeutics environments.
• Deep understanding of clinical workflows, regulatory frameworks (e.g., DiGA, MDR) and reimbursement pathways.
• Track record of building and scaling complex, compliant software platforms.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with hands‑on technical depth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills at executive level.
