HR Generalist – EMEA (Germany focus)

About the role

Spectrix is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support its EMEA operations, with a primary focus on Germany. The role is hybrid, based in Bahlingen three days a week, and reports to the HR Director EMEA. You will act as the main HR contact for German employees while providing operational support across multiple European countries.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day HR advice to managers and employees in the EMEA region.
• Provide expert guidance on German employment legislation, labour relations and Works Council (Betriebsrat) engagement.
• Support performance management, disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management and employee development.
• Partner with German Works Councils and union representatives to ensure co‑determination compliance.
• Assist with organisational change, restructures and workforce planning.
• Maintain compliance of HR policies with local laws across the region.
• Coordinate with payroll, finance and external legal advisers.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle and off‑boarding processes.
• Prepare HR reports, audits and support global HR initiatives adapted to local requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner in an operational capacity.
• Strong expertise in German employment law and labour relations.
• Significant experience working with German Works Councils and in unionised environments.
• Ability to build trusted relationships with managers and employee representatives.
• Experience in a US‑owned multinational environment is advantageous.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of German employment legislation.

• Familiarity with HR policy compliance across multiple European jurisdictions.
• Competence in handling recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
