Indirect Tax Specialist – VAT/GST Compliance

About the role

BASF Agricultural Solutions is preparing to become an independent agricultural company and needs an experienced Indirect Tax Specialist to ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will localise indirect tax requirements, maintain audit trails and support tax audits.

Key responsibilities

• Execute last‑mile localisation of indirect tax rules in complex markets.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and audit evidence for all indirect tax positions.
• Collaborate with Global Business Services, Controlling and Business Units to resolve tax discrepancies.
• Update processes and controls to reflect regulatory changes in VAT/GST and other indirect taxes.
• Prepare responses to tax authorities and manage audit interactions.
• Report progress, risks and issues to group and local tax leads.

Required profile

• Degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; tax advisor certification is a plus.
• At least eight years of professional experience in indirect tax compliance, preferably in an international corporate environment.
• In‑depth knowledge of VAT/GST frameworks, regulatory change management and audit defence.
• Fluent English and strong analytical, solution‑oriented thinking.
