Industrial Systems Engineer – Supplier Development

About the role

You will strengthen the industrial systems of Siemens Energy’s global supply base, focusing on high‑complexity manufacturing environments. The role is centred on diagnosing supplier production systems and building capability, rather than plant‑based engineering or quality inspection work.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose supplier production systems (flow, capacity, constraints, stability) and pinpoint root causes of system‑level gaps.
• Drive targeted improvements in throughput, lead time and robustness through bottleneck resolution and system‑level countermeasures.
• Establish robust operating routines for suppliers, including system visibility, review cadence, escalation logic and structured problem solving.
• Translate enterprise priorities into sequenced supplier development initiatives with clear baselines and measurable outcomes.
• Convert hands‑on improvement experience into standard work, playbooks and training to enable repeatability across teams.
• Influence stakeholders across a matrix organisation, fostering sustained adoption through technical credibility.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong experience improving production systems in high‑complexity industrial supplier environments.
• Deep systems thinking grounded in flow, capacity, constraints, variability and stability.
• Proven ability to diagnose and improve real production systems using data, analytics and emerging digital/AI tools.
• Experience translating hands‑on work into repeatable methods (standard work, routines, templates, playbooks).
• Ability to influence across functions without direct authority and willingness to travel internationally up to 30%.
