Internal Auditor

About the role

As an Internal Auditor within Avaloq's Sourcing (Europe) GmbH, you will join the Berlin‑based Internal Audit department to provide independent, objective audit and advisory services. You will work on IT‑focused and broader audit assignments, helping to improve risk management, control and governance across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and document IT and business audit assignments independently or in small teams.
• Present audit findings, prepare reports and follow up on remediation actions with stakeholders.
• Provide risk‑based assurance, advice and insight to protect and enhance organisational value.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert during business audit engagements.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science/IT or a Bachelor’s/Master’s in Economics with a finance, accounting or audit focus.
• Professional certification such as CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) or CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) – strongly preferred.
• Additional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CRISC) are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of audit experience, preferably in financial services or an audit firm.
• Fluent in German and English; other languages are advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of audit and governance frameworks: COBIT, ITIL, NIST, ISO standards, IIA/DIIR.
• Experience reviewing control activities, processes and policy documentation.
