Internship – Multi-Agent Trajectory Planning

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Master‑level intern to join the Flight Management Systems department in Manching. The internship runs for 4‑6 months starting in October 2026 and focuses on developing reliable, efficient algorithms for multi‑agent trajectory planning, a key component of future autonomous flying systems.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop novel optimization methods for robust multi‑aircraft formation flight.
• Enhance existing trajectory‑planning algorithms using Python and C++.
• Support the preparation of documentation for future research projects.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time Master student in Mathematics, Computer Science, Aeronautical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong interest in optimization, machine learning and aerospace applications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with experienced research and technology team members.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• C++ programming.
• MATLAB/Simulink (a plus).
