Investment Associate – Private Equity/Mid‑Market

About the role

Join a leading independent mid‑market private equity firm in Munich as an Investment Associate. You will work directly with senior partners on a high‑impact deal pipeline across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, gaining exposure to the full investment lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Support the entire deal process from origination, screening, due diligence, structuring and execution to portfolio value creation and exit.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models, including LBO, valuation and scenario analysis.
• Conduct commercial, financial and market due diligence, coordinating with advisors and management teams.
• Prepare investment memoranda and committee materials, presenting risk‑return assessments and value‑creation levers.
• Identify and evaluate buy‑and‑build opportunities and assist with add‑on acquisitions for portfolio companies.
• Monitor portfolio performance, KPIs and strategic initiatives alongside partners and management.
• Develop relationships with advisors, intermediaries and management teams across the DACH market.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in private equity, top‑tier investment banking or top‑tier strategy consulting.
• Strong analytical ability with solid financial modelling skills and commercial judgement.
• Genuine interest in the German‑speaking mid‑market and long‑term business building.
• Excellent academic background in finance, economics, business or a related field.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Self‑starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, high integrity and ownership mentality.
