IT Security Engineer – DevOps & Cybersecurity

About the role

We are looking for an IT Security Engineer to strengthen our infrastructure, support DevOps practices and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will work in a fast‑moving payment institution in Hamburg, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to protect our systems and data.

Key responsibilities

• Secure and harden infrastructure supporting DevOps pipelines.
• Perform regular security assessments, penetration testing and audits.
• Monitor networks and systems for suspicious activity and vulnerabilities.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, including breaches and malware.
• Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, IDS/IPS and intrusion detection systems.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in Java/Spring applications.
• Work with development teams to implement secure configurations and deployments.
• Support compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001 and DORA regulations.

Required profile

• Several years of experience as an IT Security Specialist or similar role.
• Strong understanding of security tools and technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with incident response and security analysis.
• Proficiency in Linux server environments and scripting/automation.
• Proactive, hands‑on mindset.
