Junior Cloud & DevOps Engineer / Kubernetes Specialist

About the role

Join the Cloud Platforms & Solutions team within Digital at Airbus Defence and Space. You will act as a bridge between the central DCS platform and internal project teams, helping them modernise, containerise and deploy applications on Red Hat OpenShift and Kubernetes.

Key responsibilities

• Technical advocacy and pre‑sales: represent DCS to internal teams, assess architectures and showcase platform capabilities.
• Hands‑on containerisation and deployment: guide teams through Docker/Podman, write Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts and set up ArgoCD GitOps pipelines.
• Developer enablement: run coding sessions, office hours and workshops on Kubernetes, OpenShift and CI/CD best practices.
• Requirements gathering: collect developer feedback and translate friction points into actionable technical requirements for the core platform team.
• Documentation and community building: create quick‑start guides, GitOps templates and sample repositories to foster a cloud‑native developer community.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on programming experience in at least one modern language such as Python, Go, Java or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of modern application architectures and container‑orchestrated environments.
• Fluent in English and German with strong consulting, teaching and presentation skills.
