Junior Corporate Accountant – Finance (Berlin)

About the role

Join MEININGER Hotels in Berlin as a Junior Corporate Accountant. You will support the finance team with month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closings, fixed‑asset management and intercompany reconciliations across a growing European hotel group.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual closings and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Calculate accruals for personnel, reinstatement obligations and other items.
• Handle accounting topics under IFRS (including IFRS 16) and local GAAP.
• Manage the fixed‑asset module for roughly 50 entities – additions, disposals, depreciation and register maintenance.
• Compile project costs for construction, furniture and service equipment and record them in the fixed‑asset system.
• Reconcile general‑ledger balances with fixed‑asset reports and investigate potential obsolescence.
• Review capitalization versus expense decisions according to company policy.
• Perform intercompany, general‑ledger and sub‑ledger reconciliations.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in an international finance environment.
• Experience in shared‑service or general‑ledger accounting is a plus.
• Familiarity with IFRS, local GAAP and budgeting tools (e.g., LucaNet, Fairmas) is advantageous.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Business‑level English; additional languages (German, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese) are a plus.
