Junior Data Center Technician

About the role

Verda is building a European AI cloud powered by 100% renewable energy. The infrastructure relies on physical hardware that must be deployed, cabled, monitored and maintained. As a Junior Data Center Technician you will be the hands‑on execution layer for our data centre operations in Hamburg, ensuring customer uptime and supporting rapid growth.

Key responsibilities

• Rack, stack and configure servers and networking equipment.
• Perform structured cabling – both copper and fiber – including routing, termination and labeling.
• Track hardware lifecycle from deployment through decommission and manage asset records.
• Provide first‑line incident response, diagnose hardware issues and swap components.
• Manage vendor support tickets and coordinate on‑site field visits.
• Monitor environment conditions such as power, cooling and physical security, flagging anomalies.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation of all activities.

Required profile

• Vocational qualification in IT, electrical or electronics.
• Hands‑on experience or strong theoretical knowledge of data‑center hardware.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and ask the right questions.
• Willingness to work occasional non‑standard hours.
• Good communication skills for vendor and internal coordination.
