Junior Software Engineer

About the role

Join a technology‑focused taskforce that supports a large‑scale digital travel platform. This junior position offers hands‑on experience in software development, IT strategy, process optimisation and business‑critical technology projects while working closely with senior technology leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance internal software systems and booking platforms.
• Support the delivery of strategic IT projects across the travel‑technology division.
• Analyse existing processes, define KPIs and implement operational improvements.
• Gather, analyse and prepare technical and business information for senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to innovation workshops and internal technology programmes.
• Collaborate with multiple technology teams across different business units.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business Informatics or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Fluent communication skills in German and English.
• Motivated self‑starter with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C#, Golang or PHP.
• Experience or interest in AI‑assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
• Understanding of Linux environments and DevOps concepts.
