Legal Counsel – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term Role in Frankfurt

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join our EU Legal Department in Frankfurt for a 12‑month fixed‑term assignment. The role serves as the main liaison between business units, internal functions and external partners, supporting the Business Legal International team in a fast‑moving, technology‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on commercial, regulatory and contractual matters across multiple regions.
• Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements such as distribution contracts, master services agreements, service contracts and investment management agreements.
• Support cross‑functional projects with business, infrastructure and compliance teams.
• Monitor and interpret German and European regulatory developments relevant to asset management and financial services.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage legal risk.
• Contribute to the creation and improvement of internal legal policies, templates and guidelines.

Required profile

• Fully qualified German lawyer (Erstes und Zweites Staatsexamen).
• Strong knowledge of German and European commercial and capital markets law.
• Excellent contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Fluent English with experience in an international setting.
• Proactive, structured and solution‑oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft CoPilot (AI tool) – optional but advantageous.
