Legal Counsel – Defence Digital (m/f/d)

About the role

Join the Legal Team of Defence Digital at Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn, Germany. The role provides comprehensive legal expertise on complex regulatory frameworks, high‑stakes defence procurement contracts, and strategic partnerships, and can be performed with reduced weekly hours.

Key responsibilities

• Support the preparation and submission of national and international bids, analysing terms, identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation actions.
• Draft and negotiate a wide range of transaction documents, including teaming, cooperation, JV and commercial contracts, especially with start‑ups.
• Provide timely advice on commercial, IT, IP, public procurement, EU and digital law to internal stakeholders.
• Represent the legal function in Bid Approval Committee meetings and manage litigation coordination with external counsel.
• Maintain and update standard contract templates and support subsidiaries monitoring.

Required profile

• Advanced law degree in German law (2nd State Exam) with 8‑10 years of legal experience in a multinational environment, preferably in defence and security.
• Deep knowledge of commercial, corporate, public procurement, IT, antitrust, data‑protection and digital laws.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills, fluent English and negotiation‑level German (additional French or Spanish a plus).
• Ability to work autonomously, proactively and collaboratively, with a solution‑oriented mindset.
