Legal Counsel

About the role

Blacklane is looking for a Legal Counsel to shape its legal and regulatory strategy across a fast‑growing global chauffeur service. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will act as a business‑oriented advisor, helping to align legal support with commercial objectives and ensuring compliance in key markets.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to the General Counsel and executive leadership, aligning legal support with Blacklane’s commercial goals.
• Lead commercial matters, partnering with sales, operations, product, and leadership teams to structure go‑to‑market strategies and commercial initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial, sales, and technology agreements, including vendor, partnership, and customer‑facing terms.
• Advise on employment regulatory risk, worker classification, and emerging EU regimes, providing guidance on German employment law and cross‑border issues.
• Support disputes and pre‑litigation matters in employment and commercial areas, managing outside counsel and budgets.

Required profile

• Completed the Second German State Exam in Law with strong results.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an international firm or in‑house setting.
• Proven ability to provide legal and regulatory guidance on transportation and go‑to‑market strategies.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, able to translate legal ambiguity into clear business guidance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational abilities, and curiosity for new technologies.
