Legal Counsel – Trademark & Intellectual Property

About the role

The Legal Counsel (Trademark & Intellectual Property) will safeguard FSC’s global trademark and IP portfolio, ensuring consistent and compliant use across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with internal teams, network partners, certification bodies and external counsel, you will provide clear legal guidance on trademark use, infringement, and brand protection.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage global trademark enforcement activities, investigating infringement, misuse, fraud, counterfeiting and unauthorized use.
• Draft and negotiate enforcement documentation such as cease‑and‑desist letters and settlement agreements.
• Support litigation strategies and coordinate with external counsel when required.
• Collaborate with customs authorities, regulators and law‑enforcement agencies to combat counterfeit activities.
• Advise on broader IP matters including copyrights, domain names, e‑commerce and unfair competition.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of FSC’s global trademark strategy and portfolio.
• Provide legal advice on licensing and contractual matters and deliver training to internal and external stakeholders.
• Conduct legal research, monitor regulatory developments and support governance initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in Law (LL.B., LL.M., JD or equivalent).
• Demonstrated expertise in Intellectual Property, Trademark Law and brand protection.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in an international law firm, in‑house legal department or IP practice.
• Experience managing international trademark portfolios and enforcement actions.
• Exposure to licensing, anti‑counterfeiting, customs actions or related legal areas is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
