Logistics Specialist – Technical Operations

About the role

Viking is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support the Technical Operations River team, ensuring the timely supply of spare parts and consumables for its fleet of more than 80 river ships. Based in Cologne, the role works closely with technical leadership, purchasing and external suppliers to keep vessels operational and safe.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of spare parts and consumables to ships at varying docking points.
• Manage central and decentralized inventory, tracking stock levels and movements.
• Communicate with international suppliers and freight forwarders to schedule shipments.
• Maintain logistics data in ERP systems, ensuring accuracy and up‑to‑date records.
• Arrange emergency deliveries during technical failures and handle related claims.
• Monitor delivery costs, ensure compliance with legal and Viking sustainability standards, and prepare shipping and customs documentation.
• Generate and validate logistics KPIs and regular reports.
• Identify and implement process improvements within the supply chain.

Required profile

• Completed vocational training or degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or a comparable field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in national or international logistics, preferably in a maritime environment.
• Eligibility to work in Germany or possession of a valid work permit.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics.
