Maintenance Engineer – Industrial Trucks Fleet

About the role

Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Maintenance Engineer to ensure the reliability, safety and optimal performance of the industrial trucks fleet at the Gigafactory Berlin‑Brandenburg. You will be responsible for preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance of electric forklifts, reach trucks, tuggers, AGVs and related material‑handling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies for all industrial trucks.
• Implement condition‑monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging and oil analysis.
• Manage work orders and schedules in the FLUX CMMS to minimise downtime.
• Monitor OEE metrics, analyse losses and lead cross‑functional improvement projects.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone and FMEA and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Perform cost‑benefit analyses, optimise spare‑parts inventory and identify energy‑efficiency opportunities.
• Mentor technicians, train operators and collaborate with production, logistics and engineering teams.

Required profile

• Technical background in maintenance engineering or a related field.
• Experience with industrial material‑handling equipment and fleet management.
• Ability to work closely with production, logistics and engineering stakeholders.
• Strong analytical mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Condition monitoring (vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis)
• FLUX CMMS (or similar computerized maintenance management system)
• OEE analysis and improvement
• SCADA, MES and IoT sensor data handling
• Root‑cause analysis methods (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA)
• Cost‑benefit analysis, ABC inventory analysis and demand forecasting
• Battery management, regenerative braking and idle‑power reduction techniques
