Management Accountant – German Operations

About the role

Black Forest Labs is looking for a bilingual Management Accountant to become the cornerstone of its German accounting operations. You will bridge day‑to‑day financial tasks with cross‑border requirements, ensuring accurate reporting for both German and US entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage full‑cycle billing, collections and accounts payable for the German entity.
• Execute treasury and cash‑management functions, including inter‑company settlements.
• Process and reconcile inter‑company transactions between German and US entities.
• Partner with People Operations and external payroll agencies to record payroll entries and reconcile related balance‑sheet accounts.
• Maintain books in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) using DATEV and the global ERP system Rillet.
• Coordinate VAT returns, corporate tax filings (Körperschaftsteuer, Gewerbesteuer) and support tax audits.
• Assist in reconciling German GAAP accounts to US GAAP for consolidated reporting.
• Improve accounting processes, internal controls and ERP efficiency.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in German and English.
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP (HGB) and US GAAP.
• Experience with statutory accounting, tax compliance and payroll accounting.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across borders.
