Manager, Sales Planning & Analysis

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Manager, Sales Planning & Analysis to join its Finance, Accounting & Audit organization in Germany. You will support senior leadership and cross‑functional teams by providing data‑driven insights, reducing financial risk, and enhancing business performance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and budgets for strategic and operational planning.
• Conduct deep‑dive analysis of sales by customer, identifying trends, risks, and business drivers.
• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate scenarios, investments, profitability, and strategic initiatives.
• Advise senior management on cost management, pricing strategies, and market developments.
• Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate month‑end closing, revenue recognition, provisions, and accruals.
• Monitor external economic conditions and assess their impact on the business.
• Design, monitor, and improve KPIs and performance metrics for sales by customer groups and strategic accounts.
• Provide financial recommendations to increase profitability and minimize risks.
• Support cross‑functional projects aimed at efficiency improvements and financial optimisation.
• Own system processes for revenue accounting, sales deferrals, rebates, discounts, and equipment sales recognition in line with IFRS.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, Business Analytics or a comparable field (Master’s preferred).
• Several years of experience in Controlling, Business Planning, FP&A or Finance.
• Proven experience building and analysing financial models and managing budgets and forecasts.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end closing and collaboration with accounting teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations.
• Experience in medical devices, healthcare or pharma is a plus.
