Manufacturing Engineer – Automation & Process Development

About the role

Stark is seeking an Automation & Process Development Engineer to define how its high‑performance unmanned systems are built. You will create advanced manufacturing processes, design automated assembly cells, and ensure external equipment vendors deliver on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, test and validate new manufacturing processes such as automated joining, dispensing, laser welding and vision inspection.
• Identify automation opportunities and sketch concepts for robotic cells, custom tooling, vision systems and PLC‑controlled stations.
• Draft functional specifications and RFPs, lead technical vendor selection and manage machine‑builder relationships.
• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) at vendor sites and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) during installation, verifying cycle times and yields.
• Commission automated equipment, program adjustments, troubleshoot issues and hand over fully qualified systems to production.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience developing advanced manufacturing processes and integrating automation, robotics and vision technologies.
• Proven track record managing technical vendors from specification through delivery and acceptance testing.
