About the role
This master‑thesis project focuses on the impact of operating conditions on the degradation of the membrane in a Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) water electrolyzer. You will contribute directly to improving the durability and efficiency of future hydrogen technologies.
Key responsibilities
- Study the PEM electrolyzer system and design experiments (DoE) to evaluate membrane state of health.
- Assemble laboratory‑scale electrochemical cells and execute test protocols under varying operating conditions.
- Collect, process and analyse data to interpret the effects of operating parameters on membrane degradation.
Required profile
- Enrolled in a Master programme in Electrochemistry, Chemistry, Materials, Energy or a comparable field with excellent grades.
- Knowledge of electrochemical systems such as electrolyzers, fuel cells and batteries, and prior laboratory experience.
- Strong communication skills, solution‑oriented mindset and willingness to work on‑site.
- Fluent in English.
