Master Thesis in Electric Propulsion Engineering

About the role

Join the Laboratory for Enabling Technologies (LET) at Airbus Defence and Space as a master thesis student. You will work on cutting‑edge electric propulsion research, supporting the development of the Advanced Cusp Field Thruster and related test facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build test equipment for electric propulsion, such as thrust balances and plasma diagnostics.
• Assist in the development and testing of electric thrusters under development.
• Develop cathodes using rapid‑prototyping techniques.
• Create and implement automation and control systems for test facilities.
• Support additional activities required for electric propulsion R&D.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time master student in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Space Engineering or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience in a technical discipline is desirable.
• Basic programming knowledge in Matlab, Python and/or LabView.
• Good understanding of measurement and control engineering.
• Fluent English communication skills.
