Master thesis in Embedded I/O Testing for Airbus F‑Series Generation‑3

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a master‑level student to join the Products Department in Friedrichshafen. You will work on the development and validation of the Generation‑3 I/O‑Board for the F‑Series satellite platform, gaining hands‑on experience as an Electronics Test Engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Familiarise with the F‑Series OBC core architecture and legacy I/O‑Board functionality.
• Implement a hardware‑in‑the‑loop test set‑up for the Generation‑3 I/O‑Board.
• Develop and execute interface, system, load and speed test procedures.
• Perform end‑to‑end chain tests using a spacecraft simulator and the Generation‑3 CPU‑Board.
• Document test results and findings in MS‑Office.

Required profile

• Enrolled full‑time master student in aerospace engineering, software engineering, automotive software engineering or a comparable field.
• Strong motivation to learn, personal initiative and ability to meet deadlines.
• Team spirit and willingness to collaborate in an international environment.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Embedded I/O programming knowledge.
• Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing concepts.
• Proficiency in MS‑Office for documentation.
