Master Thesis – Sun Protection Research

About the role

Join BASF's Sun Protection unit at the Grenzach site as a Master Thesis researcher. You will support the development of innovative UV filters and sun‑protection formulations over a six‑to‑eight‑month period, starting February 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Address application‑research questions related to sun‑protection products.
• Prepare cosmetic formulations and conduct UV‑transmission measurements to assess UV‑filter absorption and SPF.
• Perform stability tests, including viscosity and pH measurements.
• Investigate crystallization of UV filters in formulations using microscopy.
• Summarize, interpret, and present experimental results.

Required profile

• Enrolled student in cosmetic sciences or a comparable degree program.
• Basic knowledge of cosmetic formulations.
• Good communication skills in German.
• Strong team player with a committed, independent, structured, and proactive work style.
