MBSE Engineer – Model-Based Systems Engineering

About the role

The MBSE Engineer will join the Safety Business Unit at our Donauwörth site, supporting Airbus Helicopters in delivering safer, greener, and more inclusive transportation solutions. You will lead the definition and adaptation of model‑based systems engineering approaches for complex helicopter projects.

Key responsibilities

• Define and tailor the MBSE methodology to meet project‑specific requirements, ensuring seamless integration of internal and external interfaces.
• Develop and steer the Model Management Plan (MMP), establishing governance rules and data interface definitions in collaboration with the core project team.
• Maintain the digital model with strict version control and configuration management.
• Drive change processes with customers and promote adoption of model‑based practices through technical leadership.
• Define validation rules, ensure model consistency, and automate generation of project documentation from the model.
• Provide technical mentoring and conduct training sessions on modern MBSE tools and collaborative modeling.

Required profile

• Degree (up to 4 years) in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering or a comparable field, or equivalent experience.
• Professional experience in systems engineering of complex products, preferably in the aerospace industry.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented attitude with strong customer focus.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MBSE modeling and SysML.
• Advanced use of SysML‑based tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or equivalent platforms.
• Experience with model validation, configuration management, and version control.
