Mechanical Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group in Essen. You will work within a multidisciplinary engineering team delivering safe, innovative and sustainable solutions for mining, energy and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining project scope and support the Engineering Manager/Lead Mechanical Engineer with cost, schedule and requirement delivery.
• Perform system analyses, establish user requirements and define design criteria, system layouts and designs.
• Prepare engineering calculations such as hydraulic modelling, stress analysis, equipment sizing, and design of tanks, pressure vessels and bins.
• Develop technical specifications, data sheets and interface management documents.
• Provide input to 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings and participate in design reviews.
• Contribute to technical memos, reports and cost estimates.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, designers and technicians as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in delivering engineering services for large and small projects.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a global, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
