Mechanical Engineer – Large‑Scale Construction Project

About the role

SilverBack is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a large‑scale construction project. You will support the delivery and coordination of mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring safety, efficiency and compliance with technical specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination and execution of mechanical works on site.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Coordinate installation of HVAC, cooling, firefighting, plumbing, chillers, air handling units (AHUs) and pumps.
• Monitor project progress, quality and health‑and‑safety compliance.
• Liaise with subcontractors and site teams to ensure efficient delivery.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, design clashes and site queries.
• Assist with scope changes, engineering updates and project reporting.
• Collaborate with civil, electrical and other disciplines for smooth execution.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience as a Mechanical Engineer on data‑centre or large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, cooling systems and mechanical building services.
• Excellent organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
