Mechatronics Technician – Remote‑controlled Equipment

About the role

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Mechatronics Technician to support the operation of specialised, mostly remote‑controlled equipment used in nuclear power plants worldwide. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, equipment commissioning and close collaboration with product and development engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Repair and maintain specialised equipment such as milling, drilling, electric discharge machining and bolting systems.
• Commission and test newly designed machinery before field deployment.
• Assist product and development engineers during testing phases, including parameter development.
• Operate remote‑controlled equipment on‑site at nuclear power plants.
• Manufacture or modify electrical and mechanical parts as required.
• Assemble equipment and support cross‑departmental, transnational projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a skilled mechatronics or mechanical technician.
• Fluent German (C1/C2) and functional English (at least A2, B1 preferred).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability.
• Ability to work in a safety‑critical, regulated environment.
