Minijob Shift Engineer – 4‑Week Temporary Role

About the role

The Hoxton Berlin is seeking a Minijob Shift Engineer to cover a four‑week paternity leave within its Maintenance Team. This short‑term position offers hands‑on work in a vibrant hotel environment, supporting the upkeep of guest rooms, public areas and the on‑site restaurant.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair faults in equipment, plumbing, lighting and furniture.
• Perform routine and periodic maintenance of hotel infrastructure.
• Install and adjust locks, hinges, lighting fixtures and other hardware.
• Prepare and finish surfaces such as metal, wood and plaster, ensuring a high‑quality finish.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace, documenting work performed.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an engineer, maintenance technician or in a similar hands‑on role.
• Strong interest in hospitality and a customer‑focused mindset.
• Ability to work independently, follow instructions and pay close attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, team spirit and willingness to try new tasks.
