Mobile App Engineer (React Native)

About the role

acemate is building an AI‑powered learning platform for higher education and is looking for a Mobile App Engineer specialized in React Native. You will join the early‑stage product team and be responsible for creating the mobile foundation that powers personalized learning experiences for students and educators.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the core architecture of the iOS/Android app from scratch, including API integration, state management and UI layers.
• Own feature development end‑to‑end: write code, ship releases, monitor performance and iterate based on user feedback.
• Build scalable, maintainable systems using modern patterns such as MVVM or TCA and ensure offline‑first and real‑time synchronization with the backend.
• Handle streaming AI responses, integrate with effect‑based services and optimise for native‑like performance.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, improve startup time, render cycles and overall code‑base quality.

Required profile

• Strong experience with TypeScript and React Native.
• Proven ability to take full ownership of features from development through production.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment.
• Interest in AI‑enhanced education products and ability to leverage AI tools effectively.
