NDE Engineer – Ultrasonic Testing Specialist

About the role

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an NDE Engineer to lead the development of innovative inspection processes and systems. You will work at the intersection of research, technical qualification, and field implementation, ensuring reliable ultrasonic testing solutions for nuclear applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and qualify mechanized ultrasonic testing (UT) techniques and systems.
• Prepare technical justifications, specifications, and procedures in line with applicable standards.
• Perform data analysis and document inspection results from laboratory and field activities.
• Deliver training to internal and external personnel on UT methods and equipment.
• Support proposal activities, including feasibility assessments and concept development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary and international teams to drive project success.

Required profile

• Degree in engineering (materials science, mechanical engineering, physics, or related field).
• ISO 9712 Level 3 certification in ultrasonic testing.
• At least 3 years of experience with mechanized UT and qualification processes.
• Proven experience in training or knowledge transfer.
• Structured, independent working style with strong team orientation.
• Fluent in English and German.
