Nurse Manager – Medical Surgical Unit

About the role

Baptist Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager to lead its 40‑bed Medical‑Surgical unit in Fernandina Beach, FL. This full‑time, day‑shift position oversees 24/7 operations, ensuring safe, high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 leadership and operational management for a fast‑paced, high‑acuity inpatient unit.
• Promote staff engagement, regulatory compliance, and fiscal responsibility.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and coach nursing staff; support professional development and continuing education.
• Address patient and family concerns promptly and contribute to initiatives that improve patient satisfaction scores.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and hospital policies.
• Participate in on‑call rotation with other campus leaders.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of nursing leadership experience.
• 3‑5 years of acute‑care experience in a Medical/Surgical or Critical Care setting.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Preferred: NE‑BC certification and Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• NE‑BC certification (preferred)
