Physical Technology Technician (Remote‑first)

About the role

Orcrist Technologies is building a next‑generation data intelligence platform and operates as a fully remote‑first organization. The Physical Technology Technician is the on‑the‑ground expert who installs, maintains, and secures the physical infrastructure across company sites, employee apartments, and remote offices.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, access‑control systems, alarm systems, CCTV/surveillance equipment, and physical locks at all locations.
• Conduct security assessments of company‑used residences and implement hardening measures such as secure locks and window/door reinforcement.
• Manage the full lifecycle of IT/AV hardware on site, including setup, repair, replacement, and decommissioning.
• Travel on short notice across Germany and to Marbella to resolve urgent technical or security incidents.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date inventory of all security and technical equipment.
• Coordinate with local vendors and contractors (locksmiths, alarm providers, ISPs) when external expertise is required.
• Document installations, repairs, and upgrades for audit and compliance purposes.
• Serve as the first point of contact for physical‑technology emergencies, including after‑hours incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience installing and maintaining physical security technology.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively (80 %+ of the time).
• Ability to work independently and make judgment calls without daily supervision.
• Fluent German and working proficiency in English.
