Plant Manager – Logistics & Manufacturing (Eastern Germany)

About the role

We are conducting a confidential search for a Plant Manager to lead a 220‑person logistics and manufacturing site in the Thuringia region of Eastern Germany. The role combines responsibility for warehousing, inbound/outbound logistics, light manufacturing, and value‑added assembly with full P&L accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership for logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, quality, EHS and supply‑chain functions.
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across all site activities.
• Develop and coach a diverse team of 220 employees, fostering a strong leadership pipeline.
• Maintain productive relationships with the Works Council and manage a unionised workforce.
• Oversee balance‑sheet items such as inventory, plant assets and equipment.
• Collaborate with commercial teams across the DACH region to meet customer requirements.
• Achieve financial targets and strategic objectives for the site.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site, Plant or Operations Manager with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong background in logistics, warehousing or light manufacturing; industry sector is flexible.
• Coaching leadership style with a focus on people development.
• Experience managing a unionised workforce and working with a Works Council.
• Fluent German language skills; willingness to work in Eastern Germany.
• Engineering or logistics education preferred.
