Postdoctoral Research Assistant – UNESCO & OECD Science Ethics

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral research assistant to join the SCRIPTS Cluster of Excellence at Freie Universität Berlin. The project investigates contestations of liberal norms within UNESCO and the OECD, focusing on bio‑ethics and AI‑ethics governance.

Key responsibilities

• Participate actively in the UNESCO‑OECD research project, designing and executing comparative case studies.
• Lead data collection and support both quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including large‑scale text mining.
• Mentor and supervise students involved in the project.
• Co‑author joint publications and develop independent scholarly articles.

Required profile

• Completed PhD in Political Science, Sociology, International Relations or a closely related discipline.
• Proven experience working in international, interdisciplinary research teams.
• Record of peer‑reviewed publications in high‑impact journals.

Required skills

• Strong quantitative research methods.
• Strong qualitative research methods.
• Computational text data collection and analysis.
