Postdoctoral Researcher in Corporate Finance

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Chair of Corporate Finance and Capital Markets at Trier University. The position supports advanced research leading to habilitation or equivalent achievements and is based on our green campus in Trier, Germany.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct independent research in corporate finance, focusing on areas such as sustainable finance, corporate risk management, or private credit.
• Prepare academic publications, research reports, and present findings at conferences and workshops.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in corporate finance and assist in curriculum design.
• Supervise bachelor’s and master’s theses and provide academic guidance to students.
• Support administrative tasks related to the chair’s activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree with excellent results in business administration, economics, mathematics, financial mathematics, statistics or a related discipline.
• PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant field.
• Strong interest in research and teaching in corporate finance.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with high commitment and organizational skills.
• Eligibility for appointment under Section 57 (2) and (3) of the Rhineland‑Palatinate Higher Education Act.
