Pre-Project Manager

About the role

The Pre-Project Manager is responsible for leading pre‑project activities from initial customer need through to a firm quotation and hand‑over to the implementation team. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards while supporting overall sales results and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop technical concepts and solutions that meet cost, time, quality and scope requirements.
• Lead process design, engineering, component specification, cost calculation and quotation preparation.
• Define deliverables and scope together with customers based on strategic and economic evaluations.
• Organise and lead design, risk, time‑schedule and performance reviews.
• Coordinate closely with Supply Management and other internal functions.
• Lead pre‑project teams for medium and large‑scale opportunities, ensuring cooperation and team wellbeing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process or Food Engineering.
• Fluent German (native level) and strong English communication skills.
• 5–7 years of experience in engineering, commissioning and project leadership within the food or liquid‑processing industry.
• Proven experience delivering processing solutions and managing installation projects.
• Customer‑focused with strong negotiation and client‑facing abilities.
