Professor of Translational & System Science in Tech Innovation & Healthcare

About the role

We are looking for a full‑time professor in Translational and System Science in Tech Innovation and Healthcare to support our School of Technology and Architecture. The permanent position starts on 1 January 2027 at our Berlin campus.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver competence‑oriented courses in English‑language Bachelor and Master programmes.
• Instruct students, assess competencies and grade examinations.
• Supervise research projects, bachelor and master theses and mentor students.
• Manage partnerships, publish research in scientific journals and present at national and international conferences.
• Oversee specific modules, including lecturer selection and accreditation processes.
• Assume additional academic functions such as regional Head of Study Programme and participate in university self‑administration.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor or Ph.D. in Tech Innovation, Health Systems, Biomedical, Health Informatics or a related field with at least a “very good” grade.
• Minimum five years professional experience in translational science and systems innovation across multiple industries, including at least three years outside academia.
• Leadership experience at executive level in profit or non‑profit sectors, with extensive knowledge of multiactor systems, AI strategy and integration.
• Relevant publications and conference contributions in the field.
• Teaching experience at university level in both English and German.
• Willingness to develop learning processes according to the CORE principle and work independently and responsibly.
