Program Manager – Preservation of Force and Family

About the role

The Program Manager for Preservation of Force and Family (POTFF) serves as the senior civilian advisor to the SOCAF Commander. This position shapes and oversees family‑support programs for Special Operations Forces, ensuring they meet the unique needs of service members and their families.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the SOCAF Commander on all aspects of the POTFF program.
• Coordinate with US Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to design, launch, modify, or terminate family‑support initiatives.
• Develop policy, objectives, and guidelines that promote high‑quality services across the command.
• Analyze personnel needs, create program proposals, and manage working groups.
• Oversee data‑collection tools, analyze results, and produce reports, briefings, and staff packages.
• Respond to information requests from SOCOM, congressional staff, and senior government entities.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• Eligibility to meet DoD civilian employment regulations and Exceptional Family Member Program requirements.
• Willingness to undergo a background investigation and suitability determination.
• Ability to work in an overseas or OCONUS environment as required.
