About the role

The Program Manager for Vendor Threat Mitigation leads the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and directives that govern the Vendor Threat Mitigation (VTM) framework within the USAFRICOM area of responsibility. This senior position ensures compliance with congressional law and DoD directives while coordinating with multiple defense and intelligence stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce Combatant Command‑level policies for the VTM program.
• Coordinate with DoD, Joint Staff, and OSD VTM forums to maintain legal and policy compliance.
• Collaborate with the Intelligence Community to analyze vendor threat intelligence and set vetting priorities.
• Lead the VTM working group and the AFRICOM Logistics and Intelligence Fusion Working Group.
• Formulate strategies to exploit adversary reliance on commercial support while protecting critical DoD commercial sources.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance (SCI eligibility).
• Eligibility to meet DoD civilian personnel regulations for overseas assignments.
• Willingness to undergo drug screening and maintain required clearances and passports.
• Compliance with Selective Service registration (for male applicants born after 12/31/1959).
