Project Engineer – Control & Protection

About the role

The role supports the delivery of high‑voltage transmission projects, focusing on the design, coordination and implementation of Protection & Control systems for on‑shore and off‑shore substations. You will work within an international engineering consultancy delivering major power and renewable energy infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical activities related to Protection & Control systems.
• Prepare, review and coordinate schematics and engineering documentation.
• Support development and improvement of technical standards and engineering guidelines.
• Coordinate contractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams throughout delivery.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and technical performance.
• Witness and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for Protection & Control systems.
• Assess technical solutions and support engineering decisions for new and existing HV substations.

Required profile

• Degree in Electrical, Energy or Control Engineering or a related discipline.
• Experience with Protection & Control systems in high‑voltage substations.
• Knowledge of HV transmission infrastructure up to 400 kV.
• Familiarity with STATCOM, SVC or other reactive power compensation technologies is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP or asset‑management system experience is beneficial.
• Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2+) are essential.
• Full driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
