Project Engineer – Water Resources

About the role

Artheon is looking for a Senior Water Resources Engineer to design and deliver hydrologic and hydraulic solutions for transportation and stormwater projects. You will work on drainage conveyance systems, stormwater BMPs, and bridge/culvert designs for agencies such as NJTA and NJDOT.

Key responsibilities

• Design drainage conveyance systems, stormwater management BMPs, and hydraulic components for bridges and culverts.
• Perform hydrologic, hydraulic and drainage calculations and develop 3D design models using Civil 3D, Microstation Inroads and Openroads.
• Draft contract plans, prepare quantity take‑offs, cost estimates and supplemental specifications.
• Conduct site visits, prepare design and compliance reports for environmental permits, and assist with permit applications to FEMA, NJDEP and other agencies.
• Attend client and regulatory meetings, record minutes, and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of relevant experience; Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Familiarity with NJTA and NJDOT design standards and procedures.
• Strong written communication, technical writing, and independent as well as team‑oriented work style.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
