Projektcontroller (m/w/d)

About the role

The Project Controller will support Jena-Optronik’s international projects throughout their full lifecycle, ensuring accurate financial planning, reporting and compliance with German and IFRS accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercial support for projects, including preparation of offer calculations.
• Prepare and monitor Estimates at Completion (EAC), conduct ongoing forecasting, variance analysis and develop recommendations for management decisions.
• Ensure revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and HGB in coordination with Accounting.
• Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing processes (both HGB and IFRS).
• Support price reviews for public tenders.
• Prepare and present project‑related financial analyses to senior management.
• Contribute to the improvement of controlling processes and tools such as SAP and Power BI.
• Lead special cross‑functional economic projects as required.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling or a related field.
• First experience in project controlling within an international or technology‑focused environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of German commercial law (HGB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong analytical mindset, independent and solution‑oriented working style.
• Excellent communication skills in German and English.

Required skills

• Proficient use of SAP modules CO, PS and FI.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
