Purchasing Manager

About the role

JD Industrial, a leading industrial supply chain technology subsidiary of JD Group, is expanding its European business and seeks a Purchasing Manager to be based in Düsseldorf. The role focuses on sourcing and onboarding German suppliers, building a localized product portfolio and supporting rapid growth across Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct local supplier sourcing and development for German and European industrial MRO, electrical automation, mechanical tools and related categories.
• Identify, screen and onboard high‑quality local suppliers to create a solid supplier resource pool.
• Establish supplier access standards, complete qualification reviews, business assessments and performance evaluations; manage supplier grading and long‑term strategic relationships.
• Build and enrich the local product pool in line with German market demand and customer procurement standards, collaborating with the Category Manager on product entry, information maintenance and compliance review.
• Formulate regional procurement strategies, lead commercial negotiations, contract signing and terms negotiation while optimizing cost and ensuring stable supply.
• Coordinate with local sales, category and operations teams and with China supply‑chain teams to align supplier and product resources.
• Monitor German industrial market trends, standards and regulatory updates to ensure full procurement compliance with local regulations and JD internal policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, International Trade or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in industrial MRO, consumables or electrical automation within Germany or Europe, with a solid local supplier network.
• Proven track record in supplier development, evaluation, relationship management and cost‑optimization through strong negotiation and contract management.
• Fluent German (C1 preferred) and proficient English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Familiarity with German industrial market practices, compliance requirements and strong cross‑cultural communication skills.
