Quality Manager (m/w/d)

About the role

Excelitas Technologies, a global technology leader in photonic solutions, is looking for a Quality Manager (m/w/d) for its Alzenau facility in Germany. The site produces infrared emitters for industrial process technology (heat treatment and drying) and runs an application competence center. The manager plans and controls product quality and acts as the main contact for quality-related issues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and control product quality, including product qualification and design validation
• Conduct process analyses and continuous improvement using statistical methods and Six Sigma tools
• Handle IQA, final inspection, customer and supplier quality, and customer complaints
• Ensure products comply with customer specifications and standards, communicating with customers on feedback, deviations and specifications
• Act as interface to management and support quality engineers in their day-to-day work
• Lead projects for process and product improvement and assist with new product introduction, including specification development and testing
• Maintain and improve the site-wide quality management system in line with ISO 9001
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits, prepare quality reports and root cause analyses

Required profile

• B.Sc. in electrical, mechanical or industrial engineering, or a comparable technical field, or similar technical training
• At least 8-10 years of professional experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment
• Proven experience in manufacturing quality in a high-tech industrial environment
• Very good communication and teamwork skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of statistical methods, preferably with Six Sigma training (Green/Black Belt)
• Good knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Project
• Advantages: ISO 14971 and ISO 13485, Lean/Kaizen, supplier quality and NPI experience, ASQ certification
