Quality Steering Technician – Cell Production (m/w/d)

About the role

The Cell Quality Steering Technician works on the front line of a high‑volume automotive factory, monitoring real‑time quality data and handling high‑priority incidents during shift operations. Acting as a bridge between production, engineering and quality teams, the role ensures rapid containment, thorough documentation and timely escalation to keep the line running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time quality alerts across assigned cells and respond immediately to incidents.
• Lead containment actions such as holds, quarantines and suspect‑list creation, documenting root causes and corrective actions.
• Prepare and present quality gate performance reports during early‑shift meetings, highlighting trends and risks.
• Propose simplifications to quality checks while maintaining safety and compliance.
• Maintain independent operational knowledge of all cell manufacturing areas (assembly, testing, integration).
• Serve as the point of contact for quality escalations, coordinating resolution across functions.
• Support the development and upkeep of shift‑level quality dashboards and tracking tools.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical certification is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in production, quality or technical support, preferably in automotive or high‑volume manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of defect tracking, containment and documentation processes.
• Ability to work independently during shift hours and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Fluent in German and/or English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Familiarity with ERP, QMS and MES digital systems.
• Basic experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboard creation.
• Fundamental knowledge of SQL or data‑querying concepts.
